A new driveway starts with a calm first step
A new driveway or patio is a big project. It sits right in front of your home, and you will see it every day. It is normal to feel unsure about where to begin.
Here is a gentle way to start. Look at the space you have. Think about how you use it. Then talk with a local provider who can walk the site and explain what makes sense.
Containedgap Concrete is a referral service. We do not pour, finish or install concrete. We connect homeowners in West Jordan and the West Jordan area with independent providers in our network who handle concrete flatwork for a living.
This site walks you through what happens day by day, from the first estimate to the first car on the new surface. It also explains what drives the price, so a written quote makes sense when you get it.
When you are ready, request an estimate. There is no obligation, and you can take your time.

How It Works
What Containedgap Concrete does
We are a go-between. You tell us about your project. We pass it to a local provider in our network. The provider contacts you, visits the site, and gives you a written quote.
We do not do the work. We do not set prices. The provider you speak with is independent and runs their own schedule.
The path in three steps
- Share your plans. Tell us if you want a driveway, stamped concrete, or a patio, and roughly how big.
- Talk with a provider. A local provider reaches out to ask questions and set up a site visit.
- Compare and decide. Review the written quote. Ask anything. Say yes only when you feel ready.
Why timing matters with concrete
Concrete is forgiving in some ways and strict in others. The days after the pour decide how strong and smooth it ends up. Hot sun, dry air, and sudden cold can all change how it cures.
That is why the season you choose matters. A provider who knows the local climate can tell you which window suits your plan and what to expect along the way.
You stay in charge
You are never pushed to sign. Ask for details, ask about the base, the thickness, and the finish. A good provider will be glad to explain.
Serving West Jordan and Nearby
Homes in West Jordan and across the West Jordan area face a lot from the weather. The air is dry. The sun is strong at altitude. Winter brings heavy snow, spring brings a fast melt, and hail can show up without warning.
Concrete has to handle all of that. A provider who works nearby knows how the ground moves, how water drains, and which mixes and sealers hold up. That local knowledge is worth asking about.
Many homes here are newer frame houses with wood or stucco exteriors, and many have basements. That affects how a driveway or patio should slope, so water runs away from the walls instead of toward them.
If you are not sure your yard is ready, that is fine. A provider can look at it and explain the next step in plain words.

What to Expect, Day by Day
Before anything starts
The first week is for planning. A provider visits, measures, and checks drainage and the ground. You get a written quote. Take time to read it. This is the calmest moment to ask questions.
Day one: prep and forms
The old surface is removed if needed. The ground is shaped and packed. Gravel is spread to make a firm base. Wood or metal forms mark the edges. Good prep is what keeps a slab flat for years.
Day two: the pour
Concrete arrives and is placed, leveled and smoothed. Joints are cut or tooled so the slab can crack in neat lines instead of random ones. For stamped concrete, color and patterns are added while it is still soft.
The first few days: curing
Concrete does not dry. It cures, and that needs moisture and time. In strong sun and dry air, providers may cover or wet the surface. Walking on it too early can leave marks.
About a week: light use
Many slabs can handle foot traffic within a few days. Cars usually wait longer. Your provider will tell you the right timing for your mix and the weather.
Weeks later: sealing
Stamped and colored concrete is often sealed after it has cured. Sealer helps against sun, salt and snow melt. Ask when to reseal.
What drives the price
Size is the biggest factor. Thickness, base work, removal of old concrete, color, stamping patterns, and access to your yard all matter. Typical U.S. prices for plain concrete flatwork often run from about $6 to $12 per square foot. Stamped work can run higher, often $12 to $25 or more. Prices vary by job, so get a written quote.
When something looks off
Cracks, sinking, or pooling water near the house can point to deeper ground issues. Some providers handle concrete driveway repair or can point you to foundation repair experts. Ask early so the plan fits the whole picture.
